Your state archives and museum

These are often overlooked, but excellent sources of information on collections care and can provide you with names of trained conservationist. Many have departments that will travel to your site and give you a hands-on conservation lesson.

This site will provide you with the names and contact information for conservationists. You can also find information on different types of materials that are in your collection written in plain English.
